Friday, October 10 – in seven days I’ll be a on a plane getting ready to spend eight hours in the SeaTac airport. Ouch. 🙂 But what about today?
Today I started my preflight check in earnest. Because of my schedule, and that of my hairdresser, the only time I can realistically get a haircut before I go is the same day, time even, that I generally do my laundry. It’s not that I’ll have a lot, but there are few things I’d have washed to take to DF with me. However most of my clothes don’t fit all that well. Did I mention I’ve lost 50 lbs. in the last nine months or so?
Therefore I did the only reasonable thing. I went shopping.
Yesterday I stocked up on underwear and socks, today I got some new shirts and some pants. I’ve now got some decent shirts for the trip, two pairs of jeans that fit, and two pairs of dressier pants that also fit. Oh yeah, a new pair of shorts as well. I have the shoes I want and last weekend I got a fresh pair of New Balance walking shoes (which seem fine on my bikes), so I’m basically good to go.
When I get home I can toss this all in my suitcase (after removing the labels) and I’m basically good to go. That’ll just leave me with deciding on which gadgets to take and packing my carry-on luggage.
Which brings me to something I noticed today while shopping. The clothes for short thin people are on the higher shelves at the store, while the stuff for tall, heavier folks is near the floor. What on earth is that about? The stuff for us tall folks should be up near our oxygen masks.
Aloha!
