I had a nice long slow ride to Haleiwa today. It took 10 freakin’ hours, not because I rode at 7 miles an hour though. It was a combination of rain, a birthday (not mine), and lunch. On the way out this morning I realized I’d be going close to (one of) my auntie’s house. It’s her birthday so stopped for a card and dropped it off (normally I’d just call). She was pleased to see me and we had a nice short visit which turned into a nice long visit as it started pouring.
Really pouring.
Finally it let up enough for me to make it … about a quarter mile before it opened up again. Luckily I did have a rain jacket so I kept going. It didn’t last long.
I continued on to Waimanalo where…yep, it poured again and I had to wait another half hour…at least.
The rest of the ride was dry and at times simply super. It was just a plain lot of fun. I tuckered out though so I’m done!
