VelOahu…

In a fit of late night madness, probably inspired by too much pizza and a GoDaddy coupon, I purchased the domain name VelOahu.com. Currently it points back here but I’m trying to decide what I should really do with the darn thing. I own a couple of domain names that are probably pretty stupid but, since they don’t cost much, may inspire me to do something with them.
Statrix, this domain, actually was going to be for a business of mine about 14 years ago. It’s short for statistical tricks (like stats and Trix are for kids). Of course the business never went anywhere and I ended up using it for…well mostly everything.
VelOahu is, of course, the conjunction of Velo and Oahu. VeloOahu looked stupid to me so…veloahu it is. But what to do with it…well here’s one thing. 🙂

It’s hard to get a flattering shot with a self-held camera phone, especially with the raw materials I have, but the cap is nice.
It’s from Walz Cap who make great cycling caps. At least I think they’re great, this is my first. They had a deal a few weeks back with the Yehuda Moon comic strip to get free embroidery with a cap. Naturally enough I decided I’d have to have my very own VelOahu cap.
I’ll be wearing it during RAGBRAI of course. This particular cap is a moisture wicking cap in burgundy and grey (almost my high school colors actually – Shorewood WI – go Greyhounds!).
I didn’t think I’d actually care for to have a cycling cap for the longest time and now that it’s on my head I love it. I’m definitely going to have to get a few more.
